Mike Watt with Mike Baggetta and Stephen Hodges

NY guitarist Mike Baggetta is known for stealthy, mysterious collective improvisation, shifting from elegiac freedom to sludge rock. His playing features whammy-bar articulations, ambient looping, rippling arpeggios, and fuzz-toned dissonance.

Mike Watt, born in Portsmouth, VA, is a key figure in West Coast punk rock, known for bands like the Minutemen and fIREHOSE. His bass style blends rock, funk, and jazz, with collaborations across genres, including Sonic Youth and Kelly Clarkson. Iconic albums include Double Nickels on the Dime. Watt's solo work often explores thematic storytelling, as in Contemplating the Engine Room. He's also recognized for his "Econo" philosophy, focusing on creativity and simplicity. Watt's career spans diverse projects and acts like Porno for Pyros, the Stooges, and many experimental groups.
