Steve Vai, born in Carle Place, NY, is a Grammy-winning guitar virtuoso known for innovative rock compositions. Mentored by Joe Satriani, he gained fame with Frank Zappa, David Lee Roth, and Whitesnake. His best-known work includes "Passion and Warfare" and creating the Ibanez Jem guitar. Noted for unique styles in solo releases, he participated in the G3 tour with Satriani. Vai's iconic collaborations span Alice Cooper, Public Image Ltd., and many others.
