Steven Bernstein, born in Berkeley, CA, is a New York trumpeter, composer, and arranger. He founded Grammy-nominated Sex Mob, avant-fusion trio Spanish Fly, and Millennial Territory Orchestra. Known for his diverse style, Bernstein was music director for Lounge Lizards, arranged Kansas City Band, and conducted scores like Get Shorty. He worked with Lou Reed, John Zorn, Hal Willner, and Levon Helm, and released acclaimed works under Tzadik. A frequent collaborator, his projects span jazz, film, and tribute concerts for Leonard Cohen and others.
