Lisa Velez, known as Lisa Lisa of the 80s supergroup Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam, was born in Hell's Kitchen, NYC. Renowned for freestyle and Latin pop hits like "I Wonder If I Take You Home" and "Head to Toe," she was the first Puerto Rican/Latino artist to hit the Pop and R&B charts. Collaborating with Full Force and C&C Music Factory, her platinum hits influenced artists like J-Lo and Cardi B, making her a pivotal figure in Latin music.
The 69 Boyz, from Florida, are rap legends known for their bass-heavy style. Led by Van “Thrill Da Playa” Bryant, they hit big with 1994’s platinum album "199Quad" featuring the smash "Tootsee Roll," a record-breaking Billboard Rap Chart hit. They also scored #1 with “WoofWoof” and are famed for their dance-floor anthems and lasting influence in hip-hop.
Dance/freestyle artist Cynthia, born in New York, launched her career in 1987 with hits like "Change on Me" and "Dream Boy/Dream Girl." Known for collaborations with Johnny O and K7, she was signed to MicMac and later Tommy Boy Records. Her music shifted towards club sounds with remixes by Todd Terry.
