Detroit-born techno icon Jeff Mills co-founded Underground Resistance, then pursued solo work with a Tresor deal starting with 1992’s Waveform Transmission, Vol. 1. Known for intense, industrial-leaning DJ sets; his classic track “The Bells” appeared on 1997’s Kat Moda EP.
Verb T, born Thomas Conning in London, England, is a prolific UK hip-hop artist and producer. Known for his unique lyrical style, blending classic 90s US hip hop with his own flow, he explores themes of social awareness and self-improvement. He is a member of The Four Owls and has collaborated with artists like Harry Love, Pitch 92, and Vic Grimes. Notable albums include "Morning Process," "I Remain," and "To Love a Phantom." He is recognized for his storytelling and production skills.
Sun Ra & The Arkestra, formed in the mid-1950s, pioneered Afrofuturism from Birmingham, Alabama. Led by Sun Ra and later Marshall Allen, their experimental jazz blends swing, free jazz, and electronic sounds. Known for cosmic philosophy and theatrical performances, they received a Grammy nomination for "Lights on a Satellite". Their evolving lineup and unique style influenced many.
Paris-based producer/keyboardist Jean‑Phi Dary blends modular synths, free‑jazz & hip‑soul/808; known for Jeff Mills collabs (Tomorrow Comes the Harvest, The Paradox).
