Leftover Salmon, formed in 1989 in Boulder, are jamgrass pioneers known for blending bluegrass, rock, and Cajun styles. They gained fame with '90s albums like Euphoria, toured extensively, and collaborated with Steve Berlin. After a hiatus, they reemerged with albums like 2012's Aquatic Hitchhiker. The band is celebrated for its dynamic shows and was pivotal in the jam band scene.
The Infamous Stringdusters are a GRAMMY® Award-winning American progressive bluegrass band known for their virtuosic musicianship, innovative arrangements, and energetic live shows. With influences spanning various genres, they've collaborated with contemporary artists and headlined venues like Red Rocks. Their 2017 album "Laws of Gravity" won Best Bluegrass Album.
AJ Lee & Blue Summit, based in Santa Cruz, are an award-winning bluegrass band known for their unique blend of country soul and Americana. Their "City of Glass" album showcases their originality and dedication to their Californian roots, offering a fresh take on the genre.
Banjo virtuoso Béla Fleck blends bluegrass, jazz, classical, and world music. Born in NYC, influenced by Flatt & Scruggs, he's known for New Grass Revival and Béla Fleck & the Flecktones. Edgar Meyer, born to a music teacher, is a virtuoso bassist blending bluegrass, classical, and jazz. Grammy winner known for collaborations with Yo-Yo Ma, Béla Fleck, and Chris Thile.
Chatham County Line, formed in Raleigh, NC, is known for their genre-bending live shows and a blend of bluegrass traditions with fresh influences. Their albums have topped the Billboard Bluegrass Chart four times, and they've collaborated with Judy Collins and Sharon Van Etten. Described as “timeless” by Pitchfork, their music features powerful melodies and harmonies.
Formed in 2014 in the Smoky Mountains, The Po' Ramblin’ Boys blend traditional bluegrass with a fresh, authentic style, gaining acclaim from rural festivals to European rock clubs.
Larry Bellorín, from Venezuela, and Joe Troop, a GRAMMY-nominated musician from North Carolina, form a duo blending Venezuelan and Appalachian folk music. Now based in North Carolina, they perform with instruments like harp, banjo, and cuatro, sharing stories on music and social movements.
