Known for their soulful, funky style, they bring rich experience from their work with top groups like GA-20, True Loves, and Scone Cash Players. Their debut LP showcases mastery in heavy, funky instrumental music.
Cimafunk, an Afro-Cuban rockstar, blends funk, Afro-Cuban, Latin, and electronic music. With hits like "Me Voy," Grammy nods, and shows at Coachella, he redefines Cuban music.
New Orleans-born Trombone Shorty blends jazz, funk, and brass with hits and a 2022 Grammy. He’s performed globally with stars like Pharrell and Bruno Mars. New Breed Brass Band, Grammy-nominated, adds fresh energy to the city’s vibrant scene.
Born in 1988, Karl Denson, a jazz-funk and acid jazz saxophonist and flutist, is known for collaborations with Lenny Kravitz and founding the Greyboy Allstars. He leads Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, influenced by James Brown and Parliament-Funkadelic, gaining fame at the Newport Jazz Festival. Denson has recorded solo albums and arranged themed tribute concerts. He also collaborated with Slightly Stoopid.
Kamasi Washington, a Los Angeles-born composer and producer, is famed for jazz in Leimert Park. He formed the Young Jazz Giants in high school, and debuted powerfully with 2015's "The Epic", winning the American Music Prize. Collaborations include Snoop Dogg and Raphael Saadiq.
