Formed in Greater Manchester in 1981, the British post-punk band the Chameleons are known for their atmospheric, guitar-driven sound. Their classic 1983 debut album Script of the Bridge helped shape alternative rock, while their 1986 album Strange Times featured their hit Swamp Thing.
