Formed by American serviceman siblings Johnnie & Keith Wilder in Germany, Heatwave gained fame in the disco era with hits like "Boogie Nights" & "Always and Forever." Based in the UK, they collaborated with renowned songwriter Rod Temperton. Known for fusing disco with funk, they achieved both US and UK chart success.
Philly soul icons Blue Magic, led by Ted "Wizard" Mills, hit fame with '70s hits like "Sideshow." Known for lush ballads and proto-disco tunes, they worked with MFSB and Norman Harris, earning chart success and gold records. Continuously active, they've collaborated across genres and adapted through decades.
Philadelphia soul pioneers the Intruders, formed in 1960, rose to fame with hits like "Cowboys to Girls" and "(Love Is Like A) Baseball Game". Their collaboration with Gamble & Huff launched Philly International.
Chicago's Chi-Lites, led by Eugene Record, excelled in smooth soul with hits like "Oh Girl" & "Have You Seen Her." Known for lush harmonies & R&B success in the '70s, they've earned multiple Hall of Fame inductions.
Bloodstone, formed in Kansas City as the Sinceres, evolved from '60s doo wop to '70s funk. Known for "Natural High", they succeeded in R&B/pop charts and starred in "Train Ride to Hollywood".
Chicago's Emotions, a trio of sisters, soared in the '70s R&B scene with hits like "Best of My Love." Known for gospel roots and partnerships with Maurice White and Isaac Hayes, they also linked with Earth, Wind & Fire for "Boogie Wonderland."
