Glasgow-born Michael McGovern crafts deeply emotional contemporary folk. His poetic lyricism and intricate nylon-string guitar work define a sound praised by critics. Albums like "Highfield Suite" (2021) and "Thin White Road" (2025), featuring the viral song "Evelyn," garnered acclaim, including BBC Album of the Week. He is known for storytelling and wide vocal harmonies.
