The Orb

The Orb are pioneers of ambient house, founded in England by Dr. Alex Paterson. Blending slowed Chicago house rhythms with ambient synth work and obscure vocal loops, they achieved breakthrough success with their 1991 debut album Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld and the number one U.K. album U.F.Orb. Led by Paterson through numerous lineup shifts and high-profile collaborations, the group became renowned for blending electronic music with innovative live performance and spacious soundscapes.
