Nadine Shah, born in England, is known for her life-affirming yet turbulent music style. Her fifth album, Filthy Underneath, features the lead single "Topless Mother," which humorously explores tense exchanges with her counsellor. Collaborating with Ben Hillier, Nadine's critically acclaimed works include the Mercury Prize-nominated album, Holiday Destination.
Irish folk singer/songwriter Lisa O'Neill, from Ballyhaise, County Cavan, is known for her distinctive voice and storytelling. Notable works include "Same Cloth or Not" and "Heard a Long Gone Song," both nominated for the Choice Music Prize. Her track "Rock the Machine" won Best Original Folk Track at the 2019 RTÉ Radio 1 Folk Awards. O'Neill toured with David Gray and collaborated with Yorkston/Thorne/Khan. She also contributed to "Peaky Blinders" with her Bob Dylan cover. In 2023, she released "All of This Is Chance."
Formed by Shane MacGowan in 1982, the Pogues blended punk with Irish folk, earning acclaim with hits like "Fairytale of New York." Known for political themes, they collaborated with artists like Kirsty MacColl and Jo Strummer. Despite MacGowan's challenging lifestyle, they remained influential until disbanding in 1996, later reuniting for tours.
