Formed in 1997 in Bellingham, Washington, Death Cab for Cutie is a defining indie-rock band led by frontman and songwriter Ben Gibbard. Emerging as a college-radio act with their debut cassette You Can Play These Songs With Chords, the group grew into pillars of modern alternative rock.

The Postal Service

Indie-electronic band Postal Service, formed by Ben Gibbard (Death Cab for Cutie) and Jimmy Tamborello (Dntel), was named after their long-distance collaboration method. Their debut album "Give Up" (2003) went platinum, featuring hits like "Such Great Heights." The group briefly reunited for their 10th anniversary before disbanding in 2013.
