Formed in 1977 in Minneapolis, The Suburbs, led by Chan Poling and Beej Chaney, fused punk and new wave into danceable rock. They gained fame with hits like "Love Is the Law" and released major albums with producers like Steve Greenberg and Bobby Z. Known for packed shows and indie success, they briefly disbanded in 1987, later reviving with new music and line-ups.
