Family pop group from Newport, Rhode Island, and the real-life inspiration for TV’s The Partridge Family. Known for sunny, harmony-rich hits like “The Rain, the Park and Other Things” (No. 2; million-seller) and “Hair.” Reunited and released Rhythm of the World (2022).
Hibbing, MN-born, Yakima, WA-raised singer Gary Puckett fronted late-’60s pop/soft rock hitmakers Gary Puckett & the Union Gap. Known for dramatic chart ballads including Woman Woman, Young Girl, Lady Willpower, Over You and This Girl Is a Woman Now.
Gary Puckett & The Union Gap, formed in San Diego in 1967, became pop rock sensations known for Gary Puckett's powerful vocals and their Civil War-style uniforms. The group earned a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist and performed at the White House.
The Happy Together Tour, originating in 1984, is a celebrated concert series showcasing iconic 1960s and early 1970s pop and rock. Anchored by The Turtles, known for "Happy Together", it features rotating legends like The Association ("Cherish," "Windy") and The Cowsills ("Hair," "Indian Lake"), delivering harmony-rich hits and nostalgic performances. It is one of North America's most enduring and successful nostalgia tours.
The Turtles, formed in LA by Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman, are best known for their 1967 chart-topping hit "Happy Together." Their sound evolved from Byrds-inspired folk-rock to pop, achieving several Top 10 hits. After disbanding in the late '60s, Kaylan and Volman joined Frank Zappa's Mothers of Invention as Flo & Eddie, later reuniting as the Turtles for oldies tours. They released several albums and contributed to soundtracks and radio shows. Known for their harmonious vocals, they regained rights to their music, leading to various reissues.
