Brockton, MA-born drummer Steve Smith rose to fame with Journey’s late ’70s/early ’80s arena-rock run, playing on Evolution, Departure, Escape and Frontiers. He also founded Vital Information, played with Jean-Luc Ponty, and was inducted into Modern Drummer’s Hall of Fame.
New York City jazz bassist, composer and producer Ben Allison is known for inspired arrangements and inventive grooves. He leads The Ben Allison Band, Think Free, Peace Pipe and Medicine Wheel, has toured worldwide, and released 19 albums.
Uri Caine, a Philadelphia-born jazz pianist and composer, is celebrated for his eclectic blend of jazz, classical, and electronic music. Known for his adventurous jazz reinventions of classical compositions, Caine first gained attention with the 1992 album "Sphere Music" with clarinetist Don Byron. His acclaimed works include “The Goldberg Variations” and the Grammy-nominated “The Othello Syndrome.” Collaborating with artists like Christian McBride, Questlove, and Dave Douglas, Caine's innovative style has made a significant impact on the jazz and classical music scenes.
