Formed in 1986, California band Toad the Wet Sprocket, featuring Glen Phillips, Todd Nichols, and Dean Dinning, is known for introspective lyrics and vocal harmonies.
The Jayhawks, formed in 1985 in Minneapolis, blend country, folk, and rock. Known for "Hollywood Town Hall" and "Waiting for the Sun," they collaborated with R.E.M.'s Peter Buck. Albums include "Tomorrow the Green Grass," "Smile," and "Paging Mr. Proust." Despite lineup changes, the band persisted, releasing "XOXO" in 2020 with all members contributing vocals and songwriting.
Sixpence None the Richer, formed in New Braunfels, Texas by Matt Slocum and Leigh Nash, gained fame with their hit "Kiss Me" on their 1997 self-titled album. Known for catchy melodies and heartfelt lyrics, they won a Dove Award for "This Beautiful Mess." Their music features in films and commercials worldwide, and they continue to engage fans with timeless hits.
