Chicago-based instrumental group Tortoise are hailed as pace-setters in a cinematic evolution of alternative rock. Known for genre-defying, mood-driven music, they’ve released seven albums since 1990 and influenced the contemporary music scene.

BASIC

BASIC is a Philadelphia-rooted instrumental project creating groove-based art rock, post-rock, and avant-garde music. Featuring Chris Forsyth, Nick Millevoi, Mikel Patrick Avery, and Douglas McCombs, their sound explores angular polyrhythms and sonic fields. Their album "This Is BASIC" showcases their complex, entrancing style. They are known for balancing individual expression within their collective sound, and have collaborated with artists like John Moran.
