Tune-Yards’ Merrill Garbus and bandmate/partner Brenner recorded their sixth album Better Dreaming as a duo, built around Garbus’ drum looping and rhythm-building. It features some of their smoothest, funkiest, direct pop, with their 3-year-old singing on “Limelight”.

Unwound

Unwound, an Olympia-based D.I.Y. punk trio, emerged in the early '90s with a mix of post-hardcore moods and dreamy punk. Known for albums like "Fake Train" and "Leaves Turn Inside You," they disbanded in 2002. Key members were Justin Trosper, Vern Rumsey, and Sara Lund. They reunited in 2022 for a tour after Rumsey's passing in 2020. Their work was reissued by Numero Group.

Wombo

Wombo is an indie rock trio from Louisville, Kentucky, formed in 2016. Known for their atmospheric, intelligent sound blending post-punk, art rock, and psychedelic elements, they craft surreal soundscapes. Popular songs include "Dreamsickle" and "Snakey." Notable albums include "Fairy Rust" (2022), "Slab" (2023 EP), and "Danger in Fives" (2025). They are recognized for their distinctive music and captivating live performances.
