Uz Jsme Doma formed in 1985 in Teplice, Czech Republic. Known for avant-punk rock, they gained a cult U.S. following post-Velvet Revolution. Influenced by Pere Ubu and the Sex Pistols, key members included Miroslav Wanek and Jindra Dolansky. Their energetic sound, complex songs, and strong activism marked them as a symbol of liberation, making them Czech's top 1990s group. They collaborated with the Residents and released notable albums like Uprostred Slov and Nemilovany Svet. Renowned for lively tours and impactful visuals by painter Martin Velisek.
