Mad Professor, born Neal Fraser in Guyana, is a renowned dub reggae producer. Known for his Dub Me Crazy series, he transitioned dub into the digital age. He founded Ariwa studio and label in London, collaborating with artists like Lee "Scratch" Perry and remixing for Massive Attack, Sade, and Depeche Mode. His experimental style and remixing skills made him a versatile force in reggae and beyond.
British reggae star Maxi Priest, born in Lewisham, London, rose to fame in the '80s and '90s with his lovers rock style, blending reggae with pop and R&B. Known for hits like "Close to You" and his cover of "Wild World," Priest collaborated with artists like Shaggy and Robin Trower. His notable albums include Bonafide, and he achieved worldwide success with soulful, romantic tracks. Priest's musical journey began with the Saxon International sound system, leading to a successful international career.
UB40 featuring Ali Campbell, formed in Birmingham, England, in 1978, pioneered British reggae, dub, and pop-reggae. Renowned for global hits like "Red Red Wine" and "Can't Help Falling in Love," they sold over 100 million records. The group, known for Ali Campbell's distinctive vocals, earned an Ivor Novello Award and a spot on the Music Walk of Fame. Their album "Unprecedented" was released in 2022.
