British reggae star Maxi Priest, born in Lewisham, London, rose to fame in the '80s and '90s with his lovers rock style, blending reggae with pop and R&B. Known for hits like "Close to You" and his cover of "Wild World," Priest collaborated with artists like Shaggy and Robin Trower. His notable albums include Bonafide, and he achieved worldwide success with soulful, romantic tracks.
