UB40 and Jesus 'Aguaje' Ramos and his Buena Vista Orchestra

Formed in Birmingham in 1978 by friends from Moseley, UB40 became the world’s most successful reggae band, selling 100+ million records and spending 11 years on UK album charts. Their 2023 album UB45 hit the UK top 5.

Jesús "Aguaje" Ramos, born in Pinar del Río, Cuba, is a celebrated trombonist, composer, and musical director. He is renowned as an original leader of The Buena Vista Social Club, performing classic Cuban genres like son, bolero, and danzón. Ramos has collaborated with icons like Ibrahim Ferrer and Rubén González, and his work is featured in the acclaimed "Buena Vista Social Club" documentary. His orchestra preserves this rich musical heritage.
