Ulcerate and Selbst

Formed in Venezuela (2010) by N & Frozen, black metal band SELBST released a first demo soon after. Moved to Chile (2016), their acclaimed self-titled album dropped in 2017. Became a live act in 2018, released "Relatos de Angustias" in 2020, and a live album in 2023. Known for deep, intricate sound.

Ulcerate, a New Zealand progressive death metal band formed in 2000 in Auckland by Jamie Saint Merat and Michael Hoggard, is known for its dissonant, art-metal sound inspired by Gorguts and Cryptopsy. Notable albums include Everything Is Fire and Stare into Death and Be Still, self-produced at MCA Studios. They evolved from hardcore-style vocals to a deeper death metal sound with Paul Kelland as a permanent member. Key releases span labels like Willowtip and Relapse, showcasing their self-reliant and genre-defining approach.
