Sleeper, led by iconic frontwoman Louise Wener, achieved 8 Top 40 singles and 3 Top 10 albums in the mid-90s with observational lyrics and hook-driven melodies. The band split in 1998, with Wener turning to novel writing and bandmates becoming music lecturers. Reuniting in 2017, they recorded new music with producer Stephen Street, reaching UK Top 20 with their album The Modern Age in 2019. Members include Andy Maclure, Jonathan Stewart, and Kieron Pepper.
