Splintered Sunlight, formed in Philadelphia in 1992, is a revered Grateful Dead tribute band. They are celebrated for their authentic sound, improvisational style, and double-drum kit lineup, captivating audiences throughout the Mid-Atlantic region. Their music blends rock, folk, blues, jazz, bluegrass, country, reggae, and psychedelia. Lead guitarist Butchy Sochorow is noted for his Jerry Garcia-like vocals. They have performed with Grateful Dead members Bob Weir and Donna Jean Godcheaux. Albums include "Tonight" (2025) with original songs.
Bass virtuoso Oteil Burbridge, known for funk, rock, blues & jazz, originated in Aquarium Rescue Unit, joined Allman Brothers Band in 1997, and collaborated with notable artists like Victor Wooten and Trey Anastasio.
Karina Rykman, born in NYC, is a dynamic bassist known for her infectious live shows and diverse style. She joined Marco Benevento's band before forming her own with Adam November and Chris Corsico. Rykman has played at major festivals like Bonnaroo and collaborated with artists like Trey Anastasio on her debut album, JOYRIDE, which includes hits like "Elevator" and "Plants."
Grahame Lesh, a Bay Area guitarist and singer-songwriter, is known for carrying forward the legacy of his father, Grateful Dead bassist Phil Lesh. He co-fronts Midnight North, releasing albums like "Diamonds in the Zodiac," and performs with Grahame Lesh & Friends and the Terrapin Family Band. His music blends rock, folk, blues, and soul, often interpreting the Grateful Dead catalog and American songbook, collaborating with many notable musicians.
