Günther Fischer, born 1944 in Teplitz-Schönau, Germany, is a German jazz musician, saxophonist, bandleader, and prolific composer. His oeuvre spans jazz, soul, and rock. Known for over eighty DEFA film scores, including "Solo Sunny," he collaborated with Manfred Krug, Uschi Brüning, and Armin Mueller-Stahl. He received awards for film scores and released "Es gibt Tage…" and "Live in Weimar" with his daughter.
