The Fretless is a Juno Award-winning Canadian quartet known for transforming traditional folk and fiddle music into intricate, high-energy string arrangements. Originating on Vancouver Island, the group features violin, viola, and cello, pushing traditional music to new places. Their albums include "Bird's Nest" (2016) and "Glasswing" (2024), and they've collaborated with artists like Dan Mangan. They are celebrated for masterful musicianship and genre-bending creativity.

Väsen

Swedish folk group rooted in Uppland tradition, formed in 1989 with debut album Väsen. Now a duo: Olov Johansson (nyckelharpa) and Mikael Marin (violoncello da spalla, electric viola). Winners of multiple Grammis; collaborated with Jacob Collier and Kronos Quartet.
