LineUp

St. Louis Symphony Orchestra, founded in 1880, is the second oldest U.S. professional orchestra. Based at Powell Hall since 1968, it has 60 Grammy nominations and nine wins, including 2015 for John Adams: City Noir under David Robertson.
Johannes Brahms, born in Hamburg, Germany, was a pivotal Romantic era composer. He masterfully blended classical forms with rich harmonies and lyrical melodies in his symphonies, concertos, and chamber music. Celebrated for works like "Hungarian Dances" and his "Lullaby," he is considered one of classical music's "Three Bs" alongside Bach and Beethoven, leaving an enduring legacy.
Ralph Vaughan Williams, born in Gloucestershire, England (1872-1958), was a pivotal English composer. He forged a distinctly English style, drawing from folk songs and Tudor music, breaking from German influences. His celebrated works include "The Lark Ascending" and "Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis." He was awarded the Order of Merit.
