(((folkYEAH!))) presents Video Age with special guests The Umbrellas. The event is scheduled for Thursday, February 20th, with doors opening at 7 pm and the show starting at 8 pm. Tickets are priced at $18 at the door and $22 on the day of the show. Please note this event is for those aged 21 and over. Tickets will be on sale starting Friday, November 15th, at 10 am PT.

About Video Age

Video Age creates breezy and timeless songs that are the result of a long-standing friendship and songwriting partnership between Ross Farbe and Ray Micarelli. Over the course of four albums, they have joyfully integrated influences from disco, pop, and indie rock into their inviting tunes. Their latest LP, "Away From The Castle," marks a shift from their past nostalgia-driven music towards a more distinctive and honest musical expression. Influenced by classic singer-songwriters of the 60s and 70s, the album showcases their unique style.

Creative Process and Collaboration

Following the success of their third album "Pleasure Line" in 2020, Ross Farbe and Ray Micarelli embarked on collaborations to seek new inspiration for their next project. Ross produced local artists at his home studio, while Ray actively participated in New Orleans' jazz and blues scenes. Together, they worked with Drugdealer on the album "Hiding In Plain Sight." Later, they rented a cabin in Eunice, Louisiana, with touring members Nick Corson and Duncan Troast, where they spent eight days in August 2022 jamming, cooking, and writing together.

Away From The Castle

The creative process led to the creation of "Away From The Castle," a collection of tracks that blend influences and experiences into a record that's nostalgic yet distinctly authentic. The album serves as a testament to the creative possibilities that arise from stepping outside one's comfort zone, embracing vulnerability and authenticity, and the joy of collaborating with close friends. This latest album represents Video Age at their purest, offering their most honest and personal work yet.
