Born in Laredo, Texas, Poncho Sanchez is a Grammy-winning conguero and bandleader known for Latin jazz blending soul, funk, and Afro-Latin rhythms. A Cal Tjader alum, he won for Latin Soul and teamed with Tito Puente and Terence Blanchard.
