Wayne Shorter's Rise to Fame

Wayne Shorters rise to fame as one of the greatest jazz musicians/composers started at Birdland as a member of Art Blakey's Jazz Messengers. For our birthday tribute, Wayne Escoferry (tenor sax), Helen Sung (piano), Lonnie Plaxico (bass), and Billy Drummond (drums), will perform Toys In The Attic and Tell It Like It Is from the Blakey years, and Armageddon, Footprints, Infant Eyes, Tom Thumb, and Yes and No from Shorter's Blue Note Records years, as well as Pinnochio from his tenure with Miles Davis's second quintet.
