Weezer, formed in Los Angeles in 1992, is an American rock band known for alternative rock, power pop, and geek rock. They blend guitar-shredding with grunge intensity. Popular songs include "Buddy Holly," "Island in the Sun," and "Say It Ain't So." Notable albums include the "Blue Album," "Pinkerton," and the "SZNZ" EPs. They've sold over 35 million albums worldwide and collaborated with artists like Lil Wayne and AJR.
Formed in 1984 in Amherst, Massachusetts, Dinosaur Jr. helped bring lead guitar and noise back to indie rock. Led by J Mascis, they’re known for the single Freak Scene, albums You’re Living All Over Me and Bug, and the 2006 reunion.
Formed in Oklahoma City in 1983, alternative rock band the Flaming Lips blend psych, noise-rock, and bubblegum melodies. Their 1993 album Transmissions from the Satellite Heart spawned Top 40 hit "She Don't Use Jelly"; 2002’s Yoshimi won a Grammy.
