Shirley Caesar, born in Durham, NC, is a gospel music icon with 11 Grammys and 15 Dove Awards. Known for "No Charge" and "Hold My Mule," she collaborated with Anthony Hamilton and starred in films. A pastor and former city council member, she runs a nonprofit and received a Lifetime Achievement Award for her influence on spiritual music.
