Zapp, a 1980s funk band from Hamilton, OH, gained fame with their electro pop and vocoder styles. Known for hits like "More Bounce to the Ounce" and collaborations with Bootsy Collins. Led by Roger Troutman, their sound was influenced by the Ohio Players and Parliament. Their popular track "I Want to Be Your Man" topped R&B charts, and collaboration with Dr. Dre & 2Pac on "California Love" stood out. Tragedy struck when Roger was killed by his brother, Larry, in 1999.
