A Candlelight concert in Glasgow sets live strings or piano among clusters of candles, turning grand interiors into a warm, low-lit backdrop for familiar melodies.
Among the locations are the Merchants House of Glasgow, a Victorian building on George Square with an ornate Grand Hall, and Glasgow Cathedral, a medieval Gothic church beside the Necropolis whose lofty nave lends performances a solemn, resonant quality.
Programmes usually range from historic composers to contemporary hits.
