Saint John's Anglican Cathedral Concerts 2024-2025

Went here with my mother for a Tchaikovsky candlelit concert last night, was an intimate and beautiful experience and my main concern (that the acoustics would be kind of bad) was unfounded. The music sounded lovely. The experience is very worth it, you get a beautiful performance and some light commentary from the performers on the pieces they chose and the significance of those pieces. If you book a performance with ballet dancers, you’ll be able to see the grace of their movements from much closer than you usually might, which is really special. Note that there is usually only one ballet dancer on the stage at a time (apart from the last song when all three come up on stage) and their movements are restricted due to the limited stage space. As to the structure of the night itself, Fever staff greet you at the entrance about twenty minutes before the concert begins (assuming you’re there twenty minutes early) and escort you to the zone you’ve purchased tickets for, so there’s no clamouring and it’s all very orderly. If you’ve booked a popular performance I would recommend getting there a minimum of 40 minutes early so you get the seats closer to the front and middle as there are no allocated seats, only zones. Some people line up an hour ahead to get the front ones. There is a water cooler and also toilets available nearby that the staff will point out to you. Other people in the audience were respectful, which I appreciated - nobody took photos or videos when they weren’t supposed to (all of the concert apart from the last song), which led to a distraction free night. I pre purchased $10 parking tickets at the nearby secure parking facility, only across the road. I think there’s street parking too but didn’t want to risk it.

This is such an amazing event! Had our date night here in Brisbane. The location is gorgeous and the band was unbelievable! We loved it, highly recommended!

Candlelight tribute to Adele concert. Great atmosphere and great use of a beautiful church building. I wouldn’t have been to this building without this opportunity as I am not religious. The performance of Adele was magical.

This look a like castle cathedral is located a few steps away from Anzac Square. It is an amazing piece of archictecture and it welcomes everyone to come in. It even as playground for children.

Tchaikovsky by Candlelight with Ballerinas, what an amazing Concert, the musicians were so accomplished and the music breathtaking. The Ballerinas so elegant and beautiful. St John's Cathedral was the perfect venue for this production, it was truly magical and stunning by candlelight.
