I’d say get in early because the lines are long outside before the show. Other than that everything was good. Wonderful venue, lively atmosphere, cool drinks. I certainly had a good time. 😊

Upon entering the club, I was struck by its charming and intimate atmosphere, which provided the perfect setting for a night of world-class jazz performances. The stage was perfectly positioned, allowing every patron to have a great view of the artists performing. The lighting was soft and ambient, creating a cosy and inviting environment. The lineup of artists that night was nothing short of spectacular. The musicians' talent, passion, and skill were evident in every note they played, showcasing a true mastery of their craft. It was an honour to witness such extraordinary talent up close and personal, and the performances left me with goosebumps more than once throughout the evening. The food served at Porgy & Bess was an unexpected delight, further elevating my experience at the club. I opted for their burger and wedges, which was a delectable combination of flavours that left my taste buds craving more. The presentation was beautiful, and the portion sizes were generous, making for a satisfying meal. In addition, the drink menu offered a diverse selection of fine wines, craft beers, and refreshing cocktails, catering to every preference (because I was driving, I couldn't have any drinks) The organisation and professionalism displayed by the staff (including the sound engineer) at Porgy & Bess were also commendable. From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality, making me feel like a valued guest. The service was attentive and efficient, ensuring that my dining and listening experience was seamless and uninterrupted. In conclusion, Porgy & Bess Jazz Club in Vienna is an absolute must-visit for anyone who appreciates top-notch live music, delicious food, and exceptional service. This club has truly earned its place as a premier destination for jazz lovers and promises a memorable experience that will leave you eagerly anticipating your next visit.

In 2022, I saw Jojo Mayer play here, and I have to tell you, it was one of the greatest nights of my life, and that day saved the hardest year of my life. Absolutely mindblowing sound quality from the master sound engineer Aaron Nevezie as well, the treble was not so loud it was piercing my ears, bass and mids from John Davis were super clean, and the whole frequency spectrum was insanely balanced. The atmosphere in the club was absolutely surreal, and after 10 years of listening to Jojo, seeing him a meter away and feeling the kick in my heart, it was a night I will never forget. Please please make Jojo play in this club again!
