Waterloo Battlefield Reviews

Interesting historical site with loads of interactive modern features. With the online guides you can learn interesting facts about the whole area in many aspects. The Panorama also provides a good experience. Climbing to thetop of the artificial hill really requires some level of fitness. The onsite provided presentations, the 4D movie and many other fascinating things are providing entertainment for the full family.

Must see for history geeks. Museum is interesting and has a 4D 15-minutes movie about the battle. Climb to the lion statue is not easy but not impossible either, The view from there on the battlefield is good. I would suggest to choose a good weather for the visit, as you will also have to walk around 1 km to reach the hougoumont farm - one of the key scenes of the battlefield. The only downside - I could not make the audio guide app work.

Incredible museum. Lots to see and interact with. Parking was no issue and free. Great mix of historical items, activities and life size figures. The 3D movie was very powerful. Really helped bring to life the setting and sequence of events prior to moving out onto the actual battlefield. I liked the timelines in one of the hallways that showed the actions take by Napoleon in parallel to the Coalition. Napoleon on the left and coalition on the right. The wax figures on Napoleon and his staff/commanders really put you there in the moment and were so realistic.

A really good museum. The 4d film is impressive as is the diorama. The cafe was expensive and didn't open until noon so have tea/coffee breakfast before going. Also, the shuttle bus to the farm wasn't running. All of this may be because we visited mid March. Still well worth visiting for about 4 to 5 hours.

Great historical museum. When we went there where not manny people which I think is a shame since it’s hold great historical value. Very interactive museum much information you can get from books 📚 but great to see I really live. Would suggest if you have the time to visit it. Parking was free.
