Best Western Hotel & Convention Centre Concerts

Wonderful experience from the start, we arrived out of town earlier than expected and being 5 months pregnant I was exhausted and feeling unwell. We called and spoke to a front desk woman named Sandy who was more than accommodating to our needs. We checked in early and our lamp plug initially did not work, Sandy quickly sent someone to rectify the issue. She was very knowledgeable and friendly throughout all interactions and definitely an asset to this location! The pool is lovely and the location is very accessible to local amenities.

We searched for this hotel on Google using pet friendly hotels filter. When we decided to book this one, we booked through their actual website. This is where the issues started. There is no way to filter out the rooms by pet friendly or even indicate you are traveling with a pet. The main page says pet friendly, and we assumed that any room we booked then would be fine. When we arrived we discovered this was not the case. They have specific pet friendly rooms you have to book, but the only way you would know that is if there was a pet friendly room available and you saw it while scrolling. Because they were fully booked, we did not see this indication anywhere. The one star I gave it belongs to the concierge we first spoke to, as she was extremely kind and helpful and found us their last pet friendly room. Unfortunately, this room was right next to the lobby where a number of hockey team parents and children were being very pound and coming and going most of the evening and to almost midnight. This cause our dogs a lot of anxiety. A little after midnight we were able to go to sleep but at 3am a group of drunk middle aged men stood in this lobby area talking very loudly and shouting for 20 minutes before my husband went out there and told them to go somewhere else or quiet down. After this I talked to the night concierge to try and move to the origional room we booked (which would be on the second floor and not by this high commotion area) who was less than helpful, claiming that our mistake in booking was because we booked 3rd party and it was not the hotels fault and that the lobby was a public area where these loud drunk men had the right to be without being disrupted, which is why he didn't say anything to them. I was very disappointed to hear this as we've never had this much trouble with our dogs in a hotel before and I beleive it was because of this common area where people were coming and going so much. I spoke with the manager in the morning asking the same question and I was told that the room we booked was in just as busy of an area, which I cannot believe to be true since it was not near the lobby. The manager said she would speak to corporate about how they have their pet friendly rooms set up, but I know that information would likely go in one ear and out the other even if she did call so I'm leaving a warning here for other pet owners. Do not book this hotel or if you have to do not let them put you in room 101 if you want any sleep.

Great service, excellent staff. The breakfast was awesome. Pool and wading pool and tub is an excellent place for kids. Also, a playground outside the back. Many security guards walking the hotel and property.

So attached the New Years Gala 2024. Stayed there and went in the hot tub but when I got there the white foam around the tub had some kind of brown stuff floating on the foam. Two staff workers walked right past it hot tub to fill up the towels. Neither could care. When I went to book the Gala and room they charged my credit card for the full amount. Didn’t tell me, didnt tell me and didn’t give the ticket. When I did get the ticket it said no refunds. I had plans on going to this gala with a group. The rest of the group decided to not go. There was only me and the organizer who had fully paid. When I found that out they wouldn’t give my money back. So went to the gala and they put a table for two right in front of the roast beef carving station. When the other seat remained empty I had all kinds of people asking me what I had done to not have my wife show up. After many convos I said I wasn’t married. So I left the event . Went to grab a few drinks at the bar.930 pm by now on New Yeaes Eve. They closed the bar at 8:45. So no drinks for me. Went to my room the room beside had kids running up n down the hall. But the worst was when the parents starting fighting on the balcony. Called the front desk at 10 pm. They sent someone up. The place got quiet, till 11 pm then a fight ensued in the hallway where two Irish fellas were punching each other out. Blood was all over them. I called the desk. NO ANSWER at 11 pm!!! So called the police, they came and hauled away and charged one with assault. Checked out next morning and told the manager on duty what my night was like at Their Best Western. She said sorry I will see what we can do. So it’s been 2 months with no resolve. I have messaged them, with nobody getting back to me. I have called them only to be cut off twice by their answering machine. SO MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO MOT STAY THERE

Loved it, we will be back. Great buffet breakfast with stay. Excellent warm big pool for the family to enjoy. 24/7 fitness room
