Truly an amazing place to visit & immerse yourself in Canadian history. Highly recommend getting the guided tour (& it's affordable ). You will get a true feeling & facts from that time period. Most of forts items/displays are "hand on" & questions are encouraged. Extra bonus.... it's dog friendly 🐾

Visited last Friday, in the off season there’s no free roaming only the tour which was very interesting. Our guide was really knowledgeable and kept me engaged the whole time. The only drawback was that we didn’t get to see a whole lot of the site in the time that we were on the tour, but I would recommend anyone visiting the area to go!

This was a main reason for our trip to Canada and it was well worth it! The visitor center staff were extremely friendly and helpful, and the fort staff were informative and entertaining. The fort itself was great. We were a little disappointed that a handful of the buildings were closed or off limits, but it didn't really impede our experience. If you find walking too much (the trail from the visitor center to the fort is about a 10 minute walk) you can request a ride to near the gate from the visitor center staff. The admission fee is quite reasonable, and the gift shop prices weren't too bad. An overall great experience, especially for any avid history buff.

I'm so happy that this is still available for families to attend! It was entertaining and educational, and we got a lot of steps in! Quite easily the best Canada Day that we have had as a family- and it wasn't expensive. Before I go into details, I want to mention that this is THE PERFECT place to visit for people who get overwhelmed with crowds, noises, or smells. Our girls learned a lot. The workers did a fantastic job at staying in character and provided a wide variety of facts. They had historically accurate answers for everything that they were asked and were super approachable and patient. We were surprised at how good and fairly priced the food was. The views were incredible! The memories are priceless ❤️

What an amazing experience to visit and experience Fort Williams. We arrived early, about 0935 and waited to get in. Luckily visiting labor day weekend, all the staff were reenacting, so there were a ton of activities to participate in and observe. We got to canoe up the river. Throw axes and shoot a musket. Highly recommend visiting. Bring comfort shoes and tons of water, as there is a lot of land to cover.
