RIO Theatre Concerts

Went here to watch robot dreams which was an INCREDIBLE movie by the way I am so grateful to have watched the movie before the majority it is truly wonderful and touching. The theater itself is organized and nice. The staff are good at serving others and I appreciate the concessions being cheaper than landmark or cineplex. Ps I already booked my tickets for late night with the devil for a second viewing exited to come back!

My first visit to the Rio Theatre was to watch Damien Jurado perform. I am an out of province visitor, but I would definitely go back if the opportunity would arise. The ticketing system (online) was fast and easy to go through. The staff from the ticket booth to the concession stand were friendly, even under a but of pressure when people were up for drinks and popcorn. The only concern I had was why book an artist and have a movie play so close to the end of their performance? I feel it made no room for an encore and a song or two. Even with that, I am forever grateful for the Rio for hosting his performance!

Came here for the VIMFF and its cute in a vintage/old way. Concession is quite overpriced as usual though at least the grilled cheese is big portion wise. The theatre itself is old (which may be appealing to some in character) although they probably need better ventilation/temperature control as it can get quite hot inside when full.

Saw Rocky Horror Picture Show here!! It was amazing! Audience participation adds so much to the fun, there was one person who was yelling out jokes from the balcony and the whole theatre would burst out laughing. Dressing up and seeing everyone else dress up is super fun too! Rio Horror Picture Show!! All the employees are super kind and accommodating! Leave good tips for them cause they deserve it!!!!!

I love the Rio! Great theatre with so much character and incredible staff. There is always interesting shows and movies been offered. They have a great selection of beer at an awesome price!
