Winnipeg Art Gallery Reviews

The Inuit display far exceeded my expectations and is world class. The traditional art gallery had a pleasant display from a range of artists which we enjoyed. The gallery is easy to tour and will not disappoint!!!

I visited the gallery nearly a week ago and I’m still thinking about the Tim Gardner exhibit. The way this was setup, how his story was told, and the flow of the space absolutely highlighted Tim’s talent. In emoji form, this exhibit is 🤯. I love the fact the first floor of the gallery is free to all. The Inuit art is so beautiful and the sheer volume of what’s in the gallery took my breath away. It makes me want to learn more about the stone that was used and the process behind the creation. Overall, a gorgeous gallery with inspiring exhibits and permanent pieces. The exterior alone is a piece of art. I will definitely be back next time I’m in Winnipeg.

One of the largest collections I've come across dedicated to Indigenous artwork from the North. It's a really beautiful space and centrally located downtown. I spent an hour there as I came near closing time and it was rushed - I could have used another hour.

Lovely building architecture. The art exhibits, nicely displayed, covered a few genres but for me the most enjoyable were the stone carved figures column in the entry but most importantly was the Inuit section. The artistry and craftsmanship represented in the creations was just simply beautiful. A real gem. The staff were friendly and helpful especially the young lady in the cafe.

This was such a lovely evening! The performance and interaction with musicians was wonderful. Relaxing. Peaceful. Pretty. Will definitely go again. We went a bit early and were there when the doors opened so we could get good seats.
