Museum Romanité Reviews

An outstanding museum that you can spend 2-3 hours explore inside. Very well organized and is full of English as well, I enjoyed my visit a lot.

One of the best museums dedicated to historic development of the region that I’ve ever seen. Stylish and modern design is working well with interesting and interjective elements of the exhibition making your visit exciting. I did also like the temporary exhibition that should be there until the end of the year 2023 - would recommend checking it as it is a fresh view of the ancient sculpturing

Great museum showing the history of the Roman Empire, especially regarding the local area around the city. You can buy a pass that gets you into the museum and all 3 of the major Roman ruins around the city! Very cheap and worth it!

The museum pass is a total con. We were told yesterday that we could come back to finish our visit to this museum. We came back into Nîmes especially today but we're refused entry as we had already been in once and despite the assurance from a member of the museum's own staff. We will also treated rudely by the arena staff yesterday so staff training is required.

The museum includes a large collection of artifacts from the time of the Gauls and the Roman period, up until the medieval times. The price of the ticket is 9€ and 12€ if you wish to have an audio guide. However, there is information in English on all the displays and the museum staff were very knowledgeable and eager to answer any questions. We were lucky as there was also a temporary display of contemporary arts where you could admire Roman statues with a modern twist! Do not forget to visit the gardens and the viewpoint! The restaurant with views of the amphitheater seemed really nice! Overall, we spent nearly 3 hours, so it is a must if you are a history buff!
