Hotel Esplanade Resort & Spa Concerts 2024

Loved the place. We were the only black people in the hotel but we still had an amazing time. The workers were so lovely. Spa was great, the breakfast omg that omelette ( thanks chef). Great breakfast. The food was so tasty. Will definitely come back.

All in all, it was an average experience. Bad - Not enough attention to detail. One of the pools was a bit dirty. I was put in a room with bad internet and needed to change rooms after I was in my pajamas, music player broke down in the middle of an exercise session, there was a dripping water sound while I had a facial (aargh). The spa area is decent, but the massage was horrible! (I told them and they gave me 20% off, still a waste of 100 EUR) it is clear that employees multi-task and this leads to average treatments, certainly not worth the high price. (Receptions do the sauna infusion, for example - weird!) They seem to have a human resource problem. Good - The bedrooms are decent and functional. Employees are nice, doing their job. Breakfast was nice. Hotel is hidden away near the lake (and probably better in the summer), and the spa facilities are diverse although not necessarily in the most modern design. The price for the hotel nights make it worth the money, but avoid spat treatments. No value for money. They really need to up their game there. It's worth it for the hotel, but try to avoid the spa treatments. Don't think I'd be a repeat visitor.

No sooner had we vowed to extend our stay by an extra night because we were having such a nice time, than the Esplanade's Italian-themed restaurant served me one of the most horrible dishes it's ever been my misfortune to sample at such a reputable establishment. I say "sample" because the Zander fillet was uneatable. I can't say why it arrived at our table in such an awful state, because I don't for certain know, but I can say what it was like. It was as if this dessicated lump of dried-up fish had been sitting for goodness knows how long at the bottom of a freezer drawer before being foisted on me. I cannot honestly understand how a kitchen could allow this travesty to be plated up and sent out. In fairness I should say that the hotel staff responded very well to my immediate complaint. And despite this unfortunate episode, we really did like the Esplanade. We liked the touches of luxury like Prosecco and fresh orange on ice in the Reception area. The spa, sauna and outdoor saltwater pool are pretty good. The breakfast service is superb, including a make-to-order omelette and fried egg station. All staff were smashing. And the hotel's setting on the scenic Scharmützelsee is beautiful. One other cavil was our double bed. The otherwise excellent room had been "designed" so that the bed-unit was built at a snazzy diagonal. The purpose of which, might well have been to give the room's occupants the best view onto the lake. The effect of which, however, meant there was nothing to act as a headboard on the right hand side of the bed. Trying to sit up and enjoy a drink, the TV, a book or indeed even the aforementioned view, thus became an impossibly uncomfortable experience. Oh, beware clever design ideas. It's nevertheless an excellent place. Bad Saarow has its own superb historic thermal baths, well worth a day out. And it is a wonderful big lake. The yachts looked so summery. I cannot see the Esplanade making such a catastrophic food mistake again. Forewarned is forearmed about the bed. Do go there.

My wife and I stayed at Bad Saarow for Christmas (our first time in Saarow) and we loved it! Everything was very clean, with lovely Christmas decorations everywhere, as well as fantastic service that makes you feel like you don't have a worry in the world. I especially enjoyed the kitchen party and the walking tour with the hotel's director - Tom, who is a very insightful and intelligent man. I highly recommend the hotel, it's excellent for some relaxing time off. Thanks to the whole staff of Esplanade!
