It is a very nice lake with lots of water sports and activities that you can do inside. The car parking is just at the entrance just 50 m from the entrance where you can park at least 300 cars. The whole day ticket costs about 3 euros. The entrance to the lake is paid. There are some good restaurants just a few hundred meters from the entrance just next to the lake. There is a nice hiking trail on the outside of entrance. The lake is located in a nice and calm locality. Definitely worth visiting especially in summers.

The Düren bathing lake is easily accessible in the west of Düren. The 3 euro parking fee is due directly at the entrance. There is plenty of parking space, with shade depending on the time of day. As an alternative to the ticket, EasyPark can also be used. It takes a maximum of 5 minutes from the parking lot to the entrance if you have to park at the back. €4.50 per adult is due at the entrance. Unfortunately, only cash is accepted there. Alternatively, online tickets can be purchased on the operator's homepage. At the lake itself there is a large sandy beach and plenty of lawn for sunbathing. Everything very clean and tidy. The level of cleanliness of the toilets decreases as the day progresses. This should be improved. The water in the lake is clean and almost free of algae. Several inflatable sports equipment are anchored in the lake. There is also a 3 meter tower. The kiosk offers classic dishes. We had fries special (€3.90). All in all, we are very satisfied and continue to go to the lake to relax.

The swimming lake is closed 1. for reasons we all know and 2. It's still winter... basically 😜 However, a long walk around the lake is perfectly possible and recommended. Depending on your speed, the approximately 4km long route takes 1 hour. The path leads directly through the forest past the lake. A small part leads along between the highway and the lake. Nevertheless, the route is really nice (except for a few places where there is far too much rubbish - dear city, there is an absolute need to clean up here) You can currently park easily (because everything is closed) at the water ski area or at the beach bar. When it opens it looks different and I can imagine that the small parking lot is not enough for all beach visitors.

The lake is very overcrowded and there is no discipline among many bathers. If you complain, you will only be laughed at. The prices are okay if you deduct the parking fees. The food that is prepared there is rather bad than good. The water is very pleasant, but I find the sandy area rather unpleasant in the long run. It is not beach sand but rather construction site sand. Unfortunately, the meadow pitches are on the edge or further away.
