Opernhaus Dortmund Concerts

The Dortmund Opera is called the best Opera House in Germany. For some reason it's innovative and interesting. I visited Lohengrin, and it was amazing. Even with the modest decorations and dark palette.

This evening I had the interesting chance to attend a public rehearsal for the musical “Rent”. I have never had such a deep insight into the intensive work on and behind the stage. I can only recommend keeping an eye on the date for the dress rehearsal on December 30th, 2023. 😀 Even though they haven't performed in the original costumes yet, the first impression spoke for itself. 👍🏻

Overall, a very nice cultural center. The upper floors (up to the 2nd) are not for those who are not afraid of heights. However, the acoustics and visibility are great. Prices for drinks and a small snack are a bit high. Seats are comfortable, but don't offer much legroom.

Very nice production of La Boheme. Several actors were ill and were excellently replaced by the understudy.

Very nice atmosphere, with top-class musical actors. It was unforgettably impressive. Normally this Musical Rent should always be fully booked. The city of Dortmund has created such a good cultural event here that we are happy to become regular guests. We hope for more good musicals. Thank you for this lovely evening
