The Protestant Church of the Redeemer in Duisburg Rheinhausen offers a modest impression from the outside, but surprises from the inside. The extremely friendly sexton spontaneously offered me a short tour. The spacious interior now offers good opportunities to implement the hygiene regulations during the Corona times. The church, which was built for the many Krupp workers, once had 8,500 parishioners, but today there are still around 2,500. Thanks again to the sexton for all the information!

It is a very large, beautiful church decorated with cobblestones and scrap art, concrete and wood. I like to go to church there on Sundays; it starts at 9:30 a.m. and is only sparsely attended. Afterwards there is coffee in the community hall where you can chat or get to know people. There are also events taking place, most recently I was at “Kaffeehausmusik” There was sophisticated live music on the grand piano, lectures also in the couplet style of the 1920s, interspersed with humorous stories that our pastor, who mostly cycles himself, read out by Hanns Dieter Hüsch, on the subject of cycling, which pleases the Lord . There was also coffee and cake, our hard-working sexton had decorated the large community hall accordingly and the tables were beautifully set with white porcelain, all the seats were occupied, it was really a lovely afternoon.

Only had one meeting there, unfortunately I can't add a review about the church.
