Beautiful platz with nice surrounding restaurants and shops.

Found it to be super lively full of stalls with all kinds of things. Was great for a nice little snack while wandering round the city.

The cathedral succeeded an earlier sacred structure commissioned by Rome in 724 and established by Bishop Boniface in 742 for the Erfurt diocese.
