Yesterday we went to the ballet “The Nutcracker” at the Kulturweberei in Finsterwalde. The location is totally convincing and everything is well organized. The performance and the acoustics are great... We were totally surprised... There were a lot of children at the performance itself... It was great to be enchanted for an evening. After the first act we were able to buy drinks and chat on armchairs in the beautifully decorated anteroom.

Very nice acoustics. The stage can be partially lowered and raised. Really brilliant. Everything seems very bright and inviting. We were at a musical and even in the second to last row we could hear and see everything well. Gladly again.

The external view is super well designed, the courtyard is very well designed, automatic door openers, the foyer is attractive with the clothing drop-off, the lounge with the bar is pretty neutral white that could have been more colorful, the hall is attractive with the stage, the LED strips on the walls in the hall was great, the stage lighting on the ceiling was perfect, the sound from the speakers was great, except the chairs weren't that comfortable. And the thing that needs to be improved is the lighting at the showroom where the old loom is located should be improved i.e. a bit more lighting. And then everything would be great.

For many years I have been a guest in the wonderful Finsterwalde with my literary evenings. I really like the people there with their open hearts and their interest in culture and education. This year I was lucky enough to get to know the cultural weaving mill the next morning. A creative tension has arisen here between old industrial culture and modern event options, the likes of which I, as Weimar's former city culture director, have only experienced in Essen with the Zeche Zollverein. Jonas Gallin, the head of the cultural weaving mill, who showed me all the rooms, is brimming with creativity and commitment. There is another building on the same site that two progressive artists use as a studio. The expressionistic images and ambience are completely mesmerizing. One can only congratulate the city of Finsterwalde on its cultural weaving mill, its architects, director Jonas Gallin, on the new cultural potential that has emerged and makes Finsterwalde even more attractive for business settlements than it already is. Because where culture is made possible in such a clever way, people like to settle down. Thank you for the cultural weaving mill, the spindle on the site impressively links industrial history and contemporary art.

Next week we have our performance of the musical Hinterm Horizont and we were able to rehearse intensively there for a whole week. Du Kulturweberei offers a large concert hall and many great rooms, which are backstage and perfect only for "employees" or ACTORS ETC
